100% for 100 Days Resources Praying the Scriptures Wisdom Father, I come to You regarding (describe situation)... I thank You that James1:5 says, if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. B. Father, I know that Your wisdom is not like the world’s wisdom. 1 Corinthians 2:14 says, The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them because they are spiritually discerned. I know that I have your Spirit within me. Therefore, I look for You to reveal Your heart to me through the work of the Holy Spirit. I look for the fruit of wisdom to guard every part of this situation as James 3:17 describes. I want to see wisdom that brings purity, not strife, that is peace-loving and will cause all parties involved to be blessed. I desire wisdom that is considerate, submissive both to You and to those in authority over me and results in mercy and good fruit. Your desire is not that I have Your wisdom alone and use it for personal gain, but that all around me will see the hand of God at work in this world. I receive Your provision for this situation through Jesus Christ my Lord. Amen Healing Father, I come to You knowing that You have made provision for the healing of Your people. Isaiah 53:5 tells me that You were pierced for my transgressions, crushed for my iniquities; the punishment that brought me peace was upon You, and by Your wounds I am healed. Emotional Healing Father, I come to You knowing that You have made provision for the healing of Your people. Psalm 147:3 tells us You heal the broken-hearted and bind up their wounds. I look to You to heal this area of woundedness (Describe). I see in Luke 4:18 “the spirit anointed Jesus to preach good news to the poor, and to heal the brokenhearted. He has sent Jesus to proclaim freedom for the prisoners, the recovery of sight for the blind and to release the oppressed. I rejoice that You are healing me in the areas of brokenness (describe) and oppression (describe). Jesus, You said in Matthew 11:28, all you who are weary and burdened come to Me, and I will give you rest. So, I look for You to grant rest to me, as well as the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, to guard both my heart and mind in Christ Jesus as Philippians 4:7 promises. I confidently give myself into Your care and take hold of the victory You have promised to me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen. To accept Jesus as my Savior Read the following scriptures and the response that they call for; then pray the prayer. Romans 3:22-24 says there is no difference from one person to another, for every person on earth has sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Do I recognize that I need You Jesus to forgive me of my sin? John 3:16-17 says For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Do I believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that your blood can provide forgiveness for my sin? Romans 10:9-10 says If I confess with my mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead, I will be saved. For it is with my heart that I believe and am justified, and it is with my mouth that I confess and am saved. To confess “Jesus is Lord," is to say that you give up leadership of your life and make Jesus the One who has complete authority in all areas of your life. Is this my desire? If all the answers above were “yes,” pray the following: Heavenly Father, I recognize that I am a sinner. I know that I cannot have forgiveness or eternal life outside of Jesus and his shed blood for my sins. I desire this free gift of forgiveness and of eternal life. I do confess that my desire is for Jesus Christ to be the Lord in my life. I understand that this means I give up leadership of my life and make Jesus the One who has complete authority in all areas of my life. I receive Your forgiveness and I forgive myself. I thank You for accepting me just as I am, and I look forward to the changes You will make in my life. I love You, Heavenly Father. Amen. Salvation for a friend Father, I come to You knowing that 1 Timothy 2:4 says You want all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth, and Tit 2:11 says the grace of God that brings salvation has been made known to all men. I intercede on behalf of (person’s name). I pray for the conviction of the Holy Spirit of which John 16:8 speaks. I pray that the Holy Spirit will convict (Person’s name) of guilt concerning sin and that he/she is lost and in need of a savior. May they be reminded of the righteous life that You require and of the judgment awaiting all who reject Your call and grace. Protection Father, I thank You for the promises I see in Hebrews 13:5. Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you. I pray for Your protection over (person’s name) as he/she (describe situation)... We pray that you command Your angels concerning (persons name) to guard him/her in all their ways, that your angels would lift him/her up in their hands so that he/she will not even strike their foot against a stone. (Psalms 91:11-12.) I know John 16:33 says, in this world you will have trouble. But we can take heart and have peace! For You have overcome the world. We rejoice that God is faithful; He will not let us be tempted or suffer beyond what we can bear. But when adversity comes, He will also provide a way out so that we can stand up under it (1 Corinthians 10:13). I receive these promises by faith and look to receive great provision in all areas given to You. In the Name of Jesus, Amen. Wisdom Father, I come to You regarding (describe situation)... Amen Patience Heavenly Father, Heb 10:36 I need to persevere so that when I have done the will of God, I will receive what he has promised. Heb 12:1* Therefore, since I am surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, I must throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and run with perseverance the race marked out for me. Ro 15:4* For everything that was written in the past was written to teach me, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures I might have hope. Eph 4:2* I must be completely humble and gentle; patient, bearing with one another in love. James 1:2-4 I must consider it pure joy whenever I face trials of many kinds 3 because I know that the testing of my faith develops perseverance. 4 Perseverance must finish its work so that I may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. Jas 5:10* As an example of patience in the face of suffering, I must consider the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. Jas 5:11* I consider blessed those who have persevered. I have heard of Job’s perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy. Colossians 1:9-12 . . . God to fill me with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. 10 ... that I may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, 11 being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that I may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully 12 giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified me to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light. Heb 6:12* I must not become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised. I receive all these things as mine through Jesus Christ, my Lord. Amen. Self Control Heavenly Father, 1Pe 4:7* The end of all things is near. Therefore I must be clear minded and self-controlled so that I can pray. 1Pe 5:8* I must be self-controlled and alert. My enemy, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Romans 7:5-6 For when I was controlled by the sinful nature, the sinful passions aroused by the law were at work in my body, so that I bore fruit for death. 6 But now, by dying to what once bound me, I have been released from the law so that I serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code. Romans 8:5-11 Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but I live in accordance with the Spirit and have my mind set on what the Spirit desires. 6 The mind of sinful man is death, but my mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace; 7 the sinful mind is hostile to God. It does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. 8 Those controlled by the sinful nature cannot please God. 9 I am controlled not by the sinful nature, but by the Spirit, for the Spirit of God lives in me. If anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ. 10 But Christ is in me, my body is dead because of sin, yet my spirit is alive because of righteousness. 11 And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in me, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to my mortal body through his Spirit, who lives in me. 1 Thessalonians 4:3-6 It is God’s will that I should be sanctified: that I should avoid sexual immorality; 4 that I should learn to control my own body in a way that is holy and honourable, 5 not in passionate lust like the heathen, who do not know God; 6 and that in this matter I should not wrong my brother or take advantage of him. The Lord will punish men for all such sins, as we have already told you and warned you. 1 Thessalonians 5:5-8 I am a son of the light and son of the day. I do not belong to the night or to the darkness. 6 So then,I will not be like others, who are asleep, but will be alert and self-controlled. 7 For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, get drunk at night. 8 But since I belong to the day, I will be self-controlled, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet. I receive all these things as mine through Jesus Christ, my Lord. Amen. Prayer Tools Praying Through The Scriptures
